Winchester Model 1873 – .38 WCF

$1,599.00

For sale is a Winchester Model 1873 3rd Model lever-action rifle in 38 WCF. Serial number – 278727. This rifle is in good condition considering it was manufactured in 1888. It features a 24-inch octagonal barrel that has some pitting in the bore but no major rusting. Please See Photos to evaluate the condition of the rifle yourself as there are some issues. There appears to be a repair on the stock near the lever but looks like it is an old repair as the nail heads appear to have aged with the rifle. A wingnut was used to tighten/hold the top of the tang. There is a chip in the wood foregrip on the left side. The dust cover is missing. Lastly, the elevator sticks after running the lever. We think this is due to some aged/worn-out springs. We recommend this rifle be evaluated by a gunsmith before being fired with live ammunition.

The Model 1873 is one of the most famous rifles in American History. It is often coined "The Gun That Won The West" and served pioneers, Native warriors, cattle rustlers, outlaws, and lawmen during the Old West. It often features in Western Movies alongside the Colt Single Action Army as both guns could be chambered with the same round.
