For sale is a Terni Carcano M38 bolt-action rifle in 7.35mm Carcano. Serial number- V8288. This rifle was manufactured in Italy in 1939. PLEASE NOTE: There is a crack in the wood as seen in the pictures and some engravings on the bottom of the metal by the mag well. There is NO magazine included. The Finns used the ordinance proof mark SA to identify their weapons. The Finnish name for Finland is Suomi, so it translates as Finnish Armory. Any of the Italian rifles sold to Finland in 1940 and given the SA proof mark were used by the Finns to defend their homeland against the invading Russians (1939 – 1944). The majority of Italian M38's were sold to Finland. In the '50's the Finns dumped the remaining 74,000 of them on the world military surplus market, they were considered inferior guns. Terni is the Italian town where the guns were manufactured.
