Smith & Wesson Model 29 NO DASH – COKE GRIPS – .44 Mag

Smith & Wesson Model 29 NO DASH – COKE GRIPS – .44 Mag

$2,899.00

For sale is a Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolver in .44 Mag. Serial number- S206983. This revolver is in great condition with tight lockup and the timing on. This is an Early pre-lock No Dash model that features a pinned barrel and recessed cylinder. Also has factory "Coke bottle "grips that are rare and very desirable. We believe it was MFG around 1959-1961. At the time of its introduction, the Model 29 was the most powerful production handgun. However, it was later overtaken by handguns chambered for the even larger .454 Casull and .50 Action Express cartridges. It remained primarily the province of handgun enthusiasts, some law enforcement personnel and hunters until 1971, when Clint Eastwood made it famous as "the most powerful handgun in the world" in the movie Dirty Harry. After the release of the movie and its sequels, retailers had trouble keeping the Model 29 in stock.
