Saginaw M1 Carbine – .30 Cal

Saginaw M1 Carbine – .30 Cal

$1,499.00

For sale is a Saginaw M1 Carbine semi-automatic rifle in .30 Caliber Carbine. Serial number- 1834839. This rifle comes with a period-correct sling. It also features a Buffalo Arms barrel dated August 1943. The M1 Carbine saw many updates and changes during WWII as they became popular with US troops. This M1 is in an early configuration of the M1 Carbine with the flip rear sight, "high wall" stock, and flat bolt. We believe this carbine was manufactured by the Saginaw branch in Grand Rapids. The facility at Grand Rapids was initially operated by Irwin-Pedersen. When the carbines they produced failed to pass muster with U.S. Army Ordnance, the Irwin-Pedersen carbine contract and Grand Rapids facility was turned over to Saginaw Steering Gear and operated as a second Saginaw M1 Carbine production facility.

Please see the photos to assess the condition of the rifle for yourself. Note there are dings and scratches on the stock. It also appears the top hand guard was replaced at some point as it does not match the color or the main stock. Last the oil vial is missing rather a brass casing is holding the sling in place of the oil vial. This carbine does not come with a magazine!
