For sale is a Romanian M44 bolt-action rifle in 7.62x54R. Serial number- BH359. This rifle was manufactured in 1954. It has a beautiful worn patina, and is in good shape for its age. The bore is good, with defined lands and some frosting in the grooves. Includes bayonet. Markings include "RPR" in wreath (Romanian People's Republic); "C" in diamond proof mark, arrowhead in triangle (Romanian); Production of the Romanian M44 Carbine began in 1953 and ended in 1955, with approximately 70,000 units made- making it one of the rarest Mosin Nagant variant’s ever produced. Please Note: The BCG serial does not match (most Romanian M44s are a mismatch of surplus parts). Most Romanian M44's at a glance look very similar to the Soviet Izhevsk. The Izhevsk proof is an arrow in a triangle while the Romanian proof is a arrowhead in a triangle, making Romanian M44’s easily mistaken for an Izhevsk.
