For sale is a Rock Island Arsenal M1903 bolt-action rifle in .30-06. Serial number- 289839. This M1903 is in excellent condition for its age and features a shiny barrel. It has matching receiver and bolt serial numbers, however, there is a faint "9925" on the bolt not matching the receiver. Since this rifle was owned by Greece, we believe they "re-serialized" the bolt, the Americans didn't serialize them. After researching the serial number on the receiver, we believe this rifle was manufactured in 1918. The barrel reads, "SA 7-44" with the flaming bomb which tells us it was manufactured in July of 1944 was re-barreled for the 2nd World War. The circled "P" on the stock directly behind the trigger guard means that the gun has been successfully test fired and has been accepted by the Ordnance Department. The B's on the floor plate of the magazine and the X on the stock means it was used by the Greek.
