For sale is a Remington Sportsman Model 48 semi-automatic shotgun in 16ga. Serial number- 3557774. This shotgun has a 2 3/4" chamber and features an improved cylinder choke. The Sportsman '48 is a variation was designed solely to comply with various US hunting laws. It came with a crimped magazine tube that only allowed it to be loaded with 2 rounds at a time. One additional cartridge could be placed in the chamber bringing its total capacity to three shells.
