For sale is a Remington Model 8 semi-auto rifle in .30 Rem. Serial number- 46404. This rifle is in good condition for its age and appears to have been made in 1921 via a SN reference. It also sports a Williams peep sight. The Remington Model 8 was a beautifully made, if complex and heavy, rifle. Remarkably, in spite of its complexity, it was a very reliable rifle—a hallmark characteristic of John Browning’s designs. In fact, the Model 8 was the first successful autoloading hunting rifle. The most famous Model 8 is the Bonnie and Clyde rifle. This is the rifle carried by former Texas Ranger Frank Hamer, who came out of retirement in 1934 to go after the infamous depression-era bank robbers Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow.
