MAS Model 1873 – 11mm – MFG. 1876
$1,499.00
For sale is a Manufacture d’armes de Saint-Étienne MAS Model 1873 revolver in 11mm. Serial number-G1796. All visible serial numbers are matching, and the year stamp on the barrel leads us to believe that this DA/SA revolver was manufactured in 1876. Mechanically, the revolver is in good working order, as the lockup is still tight (there is a small amount of movement) and the timing is on. There also appears to be some battle wounds as there is bullet damage on the inside of the pistol grip and another on the top strap above the cylinder. The MAS Model 1873 was used by French officers and soldiers during WWI. There were especially effective in the confined spaces of trench warfare. We do not believe it is too far-fetched of an idea this revolver was carried by a soldier or officer in combat. The position of the bullet hole on the grip leads us to believe the revolver was held upright to receive damage there.
Please refer to the photos, as most of the bluing is worn, and the bore is in fair condition. V2-E3 Barrel Length: 4.5 Bore condition: Good Year Manufactured: 1876
Serial Number: G1796
