For sale is a Marlin 39A lever action rifle in .22 S/L/LR. Serial number- J17431. This 39A is in good condition and features a 24 inch micro groove barrel and a Weaver style scope base. The "J" prefix in the serial number leads us to believe this rifle was manufactured in 1952. Has a full-length steel tubular magazine with a 26 Short, 21 Long or 19 Long Rifle capacity. It also features a "JM " stamp on the barrel showing it was manufactured by the original Marlin team. The Marlin 39A represents the oldest and longest continuously produced shoulder firearm in the world. The 39A is still considered one of the finest examples of a lever .22 rifle, and one of the most accurate .22 rifles ever produced. It is also the best-selling lever rimfire in U.S. history. Please refer to the photos as a minor hairline crack is beginning to form on the left side of the stock where it meets the receiver. Stubborn residue is also present on the receiver.
