For sale is an Ithaca Model 1911A1 semi-automatic pistol in .45 ACP. Serial number- 1302276. This 1911A1 is in good condition for its age but it has been chromed and there are some blemishes on the mirror finish. It sports Pachmayr rubber grips and comes with (2) 7-round magazines (one is a Colt Mag and a Pachmayr magazine).

Stamps: "ITHACA GUN CO., INC ITHACA NY" on left side of slide, "FJA" Ordnance inspector’s mark of Col. Frank J. Atwood. Lt. Col. Frank J. Atwood was the U.S. Army Ordnance officer in charge of war production in the Rochester district of New York from 1942 to 1946 at both the Remington Rand and Ithaca factories and "P" proof mark near mag release, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY NO. 1302276" and "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" on the right side.

The creation of legendary firearms designer John Browning, the Model 1911 was the standard-issue sidearm of the United States military starting in 1911, served through WWI, WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam War until it was replaced in 1986. Some US Special Forces still use them today. 1911s are highly sought after and this is an opportunity to own a WWII era piece of history!
