For sale is a Enfield No.1 MK3 bolt action rifle in .303 British. Serial number- 00040. This MKIII is in fair condition and shows surface blemishes consistent with the age and use of milsurps. This rifle looks to have been manufactured in 1965 and was imported by CAI. Underneath the import mark reads: "NO 1 MKIII 303 INDIA. There is a "GRI" Crown stamp on the receiver and a date of "1965" stamped above the trigger guard. There is also a stamp on the right side of the butt stock that reads "TDE" over a crown. The Enfield SMLE was the standard issue rifle in the British army during World War II. It held 10-rounds in its fixed magazine which was double the German Mauser. The Enfield was such a success that it saw continued use past WWII and was carried/used by soldiers across the vast British Empire.
