For sale is a Colt AR-15 A2 HBAR Sporter semi-automatic rifle in .223 Rem. Serial number- SP244830. This rifle is in great condition and comes with (1) 20 round Colt magazine, and a .22lr conversion kit (bolt and magazine). The AR-15A2 was introduced in 1986 when Colt’s started making significant numbers of M16A2s for the US military. This rifle is about as close to being an M16A2 as a civilian can get! This rifle features a 20" 1/7 twist barrel with a birdcage flash hider. The AR-15A2 HBAR (which stands for Heavy Barrel Automatic Rifle) was the first serious attempt at making the AR-15 into a target shooting rifle that could really compete. Please note that according to Pre-Ban serial number lists, this HBAR does fall in the Pre-Ban category
