For sale is a Cimarron Sharps 1874 – .47-70. Serial number-SH10855. This rifle is in excellent condition. Cimarron's "USA Shooting Team Creedmoor Sharps" is a replica of the rifle used by the American team at the Creedmoor range in 1874. A portion of each sale was originally donated to the USA Shooting Team. This rifle is numbered 360 of 500. The rifle features a spirit level globe front sight, flip-up Vernier rear sight, USA Shooting logo on the right side of the frame, and double-set triggers. The wood and bluing on this rifle are in excellent condition. The Sharps 1874 was designed by Christian Sharps in 1848, and ceased production in 1881. They were renowned for long-range accuracy (This was the rifle used in Quigley Down Under). By 1874 the rifle was available in a variety of calibers, and it was one of the few designs successfully to be adapted to metallic cartridge use.
