For sale is an Asfa Ankara Mauser bolt-action rifle in 8mm. Serial number- 121681. Mfg. 1943. This rifle is in good condition and features a shiny bore. This rifles serial numbers are mismatched and it appears the previous owner screwed the front sling swivel into the stock. Turkey never really got rid of their old Mausers. They just rechambered them from 7.65mm to 8mm and performed some other minor upgrades to bring them up to spec. The rechambered rifles are obvious because they have a crescent-shaped cutout at the front of the receiver to allow loading the longer 8mm round from stripper clips. Eventually, Turkey started manufacturing their own rifles from the ground up, and these rifles (as is this example) are stamped K.Kale, and don't have the crescent cutout because they were built to be 8mm from the beginning.
