Remington Rolling Block Egyptian Contract – .43 Egyptian – Antique – LOOK!
This is a no-reserve penny auction for a Remington Rolling Block Egyptian Contract in .43 Egyptian. Serial number- NONE. This rifle is in good condition for its age, especially considering it may be 140 years old! It has a great bore with strong lands and grooves. Produced in .43 Egyptian caliber and supplied to Egypt starting in 1869. Notable for its strong breech-loading design, it played a role in key historical events, including the Battle of Tel-El-Kabir (1882) and the siege of Khartoum (1885). This rifle bears Egyptian arsenal markings suggesting its last processing at an Egyptian arsenal. It features its original cleaning rod, clear Remington patent stamps on the receiver tang, and a well-worn yet functional action. The rifle displays a gray patina and light brown wood stocks, with signs of extensive use but diligent maintenance. The rifle is ready for display as a rare and historically significant antique.
